With Assistant, you have the freedom to browse a variety of pre-built assistants, discover the most popular ones, or craft your own from scratch. These assistants act as Personas, tailored to specific tasks and fields. For example, major banks are already utilizing these assistants for content generation that adheres to their voice and tone, and compliance checking to ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
Assistants as Floating Personas
A unique aspect of our Assistants is their ability to function as floating personas across different spaces. Unlike traditional models where data is directly tied to the AI, our Assistants are designed to move fluidly between environments, bringing their specialized intelligence to various contexts without being constrained by specific datasets. This approach enhances their potential, allowing them to apply their skills and tools to the data available in each space.
This flexibility means you can create a fleet of different personas tailored for various situations—whether it's a customer support assistant using a Zendesk integration to handle queries or a marketing assistant generating content that aligns with brand guidelines. We’re excited to tease an upcoming feature that will automatically select the most suitable assistant for a given task, similar to how we currently choose the best language model for the job. However, you still have the flexibility to manually select specific language models for your Assistants. If you've crafted an assistant that excels with a particular model, you can easily tie it to that model to ensure peak performance.
This dynamic capability, combined with the ability to integrate seamlessly across platforms and tools, positions our Assistants as versatile digital helpers ready to enhance any aspect of your workflow.
Power Through Prompt Engineering
In the first version, the real power of Assistants comes from prompt engineering. You can define their persona, articulate their instructions, and set their writing style to perfectly match your needs. We also provide sample interactions that you can use to guide and fine-tune your Assistants. For instance, you might create a 'Friendly tech support agent named Ashley' who greets users warmly and escalates complex issues as needed.
Leveraging Sample Interactions
To enhance the customization process, you can provide sample interactions from various data sources, allowing your Assistant to better understand and respond to specific scenarios. In future updates, we will automatically suggest and autofill these interactions when you create a new Assistant, streamlining the setup process.
Cloning and Versioning
We recognize the importance of collaboration and experimentation, which is why we are introducing a GitHub-like versioning system for Assistants. You can clone existing Assistants to modify various aspects, fork them from existing ones, or even collaborate as a team. This system allows you to track changes, find more information easily, and enhance Assistants collaboratively.
Spaces and Portability
An Assistant is tied to a space, not a user, allowing for greater flexibility and collaboration. You can create a space named after your Assistant, where you interact and refine its capabilities. These interactions can then be exported in a distilled form into an Assistant, which can be made public for everyone on the platform. Other users in your organization can utilize it outside your space, clone it, or duplicate it with their versions, making it available to everyone. You maintain control over these features by enabling or disabling them during Assistant creation or editing them later.
